WHERE I COME FROM
I grew up in Dublin in the 1960's - my parents and four brothers and sisters in a typical Dublin house. I attended a couple different elementary schools in Dublin. Later I attended Chabot College, then was drafted by the military and served in the California National Guard (all stateside). While living on Foothill Road I worked nights at a grocery store, studied at Cal Berkeley and graduated in civil engineering.. and still found some time to play in a garage band. My wife, Jeanine, and i started a family in 1984 and we moved back to Dublin in 1994.
EDUCATION & CAREER
I received my bachelor's in Civil Engineering at U.C. Berkeley. Professional Engineer licensed in California. Worked at Bechtel, a couple of smaller engineering firms, and finally at Simpson Manufacturing in Pleasanton. I was a member of ASTM Int'l and helped develop national standards for testing and evaluation of engineered lumber and metal connectors.
